Christmas

So...I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. It feels that way though.

A couple days before Christmas, we drove to a Park 'n Ride and rode the "black and yellow" train to Minneapolis (which in itself is a huge treat for the boys!). We wandered through the stores and skyways and ended up at the Macy's Holiday Display. This year it was "A Day in the Life of an Elf" (or something like that). It was pretty cute!

The kids had a great Christmas! We visited with Dave's side on Christmas Eve, and my side on Christmas Day (and spent the evening and morning with just our little family.) The boys got a bunch of toys (too many, of course!)...they both got what they asked Santa for though; Jacob asked him for Ratchet and Henry asked for "a lot of storm stroopers" (troopers). So, yay, Santa delivered!

My dad gave them both a pair of snowshoes, which they had a ton of fun trying out! We got to see family and eat tons of food. It was a really nice time! Dave took the last 2 weeks of December/beginning of January off of work (vacation days to use or lose), so the 4 of us had lots of time together. Now everything is back to normal, with school and work.

My poor Dad, though! He threw his back out somehow, and has barely been able to walk for a week! He had to go to the ER this morning (by ambulance since my mom couldn't get him to the car) where they treated him with Vicoden and muscle relaxers. I really hope he feels better soon...
